EmoToon

Emojis are universally loved yet invisibly organized and inconsistently grouped. However, EmoToon turns that frustration into fun. It’s a tile‑based arcade game blending the best bits of Tetris, Connect Four, and Candy Crush, built with PyGame for Windows.

What makes it special

Vibrant 9×9 grid of color‑coded OpenMoji tiles. Match adjacent tiles from the same emoji group in any order (even diagonally) for high scores.

Gravity toggle that alternates between tiles falling down (like Tetris) and freezing them in place, increasing the strategic challenge. Comes with a dynamic 40‑second timer that speeds up each round, down to just 5 seconds.

Ten game‑changing power events, from shuffles to revivals and board resets, each with its own cost in “points bank” style power-ups. 

Addictive exponential scoring: each tile in a chain doubles your points, encouraging greedy chaining (with a small penalty for bridging dead tiles).

Unique aesthetic: re-colored OpenMoji tiles matched with my own cipher‑font, plus satisfying release sounds and a sci‑fi soundtrack from Lars‑Ole Kremer.
